Paintings by Gillie Cawthorne

Off The Beaten Track

An exhibition of paintings by Gillie Cawthorne

Sunday 27th April to Friday 6th June 2008.
Trevelyan College, Durham University.
Presented by Trevelyan College Arts Committee.

These paintings were inspired by a love of walking with my head in the clouds in remote upland areas, or strolling around Durham on a Saturday morning, seeing the familiar from new angles and in a new light. I have used watercolour, pastel and acrylic in a variety of ways, from comfortable realism, to splashes of bright colour — a bit off my own beaten track."
