“These paintings were inspired by a love of walking with my head in the clouds in remote upland areas, or strolling around Durham on a Saturday morning, seeing the familiar from new angles and in a new light. I have used watercolour, pastel and acrylic in a variety of ways, from comfortable realism, to splashes of bright colour — a bit off my own beaten track."
