Golden plover (Pluvialis apricaria) among spring gentians (Gentiana verna). This year I was lucky enough to see carpets of spring gentians for the first time, on Widdybank Fell, Teesdale. It was the perfect spring day with courting golden plovers overhead. Beautiful!
