Watercolour paint of the South Tyne River in Garrigill, Alston Moor, painted toward the end of the hot, dry spring of 2020. The river was running very low, exposing the wide ledge of Tyne Bottom Limestone which is usually well below water. This was a glorious late spring day, full of birdsong, the bleating of lambs and buzzing insects. On show at The Hive in Nenthead until 2nd August 2020 as part of the Landscapes of Alston Moor Exhibition. This has been organised by ALATI, the Alston Landscape Art Town Initiative. Please see The Hive site for gallery and cafe opening hours.
